Shauna Thornhill
Optometrist
Dr. Shauna Thornhill is a primary care optometrist who specializes in contact lens fittings, treatment and management of ocular disease, dry eye treatment, and pre-operative consultation and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgery. As a therapeutic optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, she holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometric Board.
Dr. Thornhill is a Cum Laude graduate from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Visual Sciences from Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she was the President of her Optometry School class. In 2006, she won the American Optometric Associations Contact Lens and Cornea Section “Student Research Award”. She has been Walmart’s District and Regional Doctor of the Year for 2014, 2015,and 2016. In 2017, she was named Walmart Divisional Doctor of the Year and is still the standing Divisional Doctor of the Year as of 2021 .In 2018 she was named Walmart Doctor of the Year for the whole Country. In 2017, she was honored as one of ten Best Practices in the country by CooperVision. She was also recognized by Vision Monday as one of the 2017 Most Influential Women in Optical. She is a proud founding member of EnergEyes, a national association of corporate-affiliated optometrists.
Born in Cortez, Colorado, Dr. Thornhill moved to the Texas Panhandle in 1994. She left the Panhandle in 2003 to pursue an Optometry degree in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her training included internships at Eye Centers of South Florida, Bascom Palmer Hospital in Miami Florida and a sports vision rotation where she got to work with the Miami Dolphins. She then moved back to the Texas Panhandle to practice optometry and loves working in Amarillo, especially in her old under-served community of East Amarillo.
When she’s not doing eye exams, Dr. Thornhill enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering in numerous community projects, running, shoe shopping, and trying to duplicate craft projects from Pinterest. She currently sits on the board for two local non-profit agencies, The Laura W. Bush Institute of Women’s Health and Snack Pak 4 Kids. She is most proud of creating “Sight Before Christmas”, a free eye exam/toy drive day. The event benefits Amarillo’s Toys for Tots and will be in its 11th year this November. She is happily married to Patrick Thornhill and has two beautiful children, Avery and Grayson.

Dr. Jim Moore
Optometrist
Dr. Jim Moore is a primary care optometrist who specializes in contact lens fittings, treatment and management of ocular disease, dry eye treatment, and pre-operative consultation and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgery. As a therapeutic optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, he holds the highest level of licensure to practice optometry granted by the Texas Optometric Board.
Dr. Moore was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. After graduating from Amarillo High School, Dr. Moore attended Amarillo College for a couple of years, and then went on to West Texas University.
He left the panhandle to pursue an optometry degree from the University of Houston’s College of Optometry, where he graduated in 1980. He then moved back to Amarillo to practice optometry. He has served Amarillo as an optometrist for the past 20 years. He loves working in Amarillo and being part of this great community.
When he’s not doing eye exams, Dr. Moore enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his grandkids, golfing, shooting and also making high power model rockets. He is happily married to his wife Glenna whom he married in 1974. He has three wonderful sons and eight grandchildren.
